How To Open A Medicinal Glass Bottle

The opening method of medicinal glass bottles needs to be selected according to the type of bottle and the sealing method. Common methods include tapping the cutting line, using a professional bottle opener, heating or syringe extraction.
Ampoule-type glass bottles (such as injection bottles)
Grinding wheel cutting method: Use a grinding wheel to make a groove at 1/3 of the bottleneck, wrap it with gauze and break it. This method is suitable for standard operations of ampoules.
Knocking blue dot method: If there is a small blue dot mark on the bottle body, you can use chopsticks or a pen to knock it and use the principle of stress concentration to open it.
Professional bottle opener assistance: Put the ampoule into a special bottle opener and safely separate the bottle body through mechanical pressure.
Ground-mouth sealed glass bottles (such as reagent bottles)
Knocking loose method: Use a wooden tool to tap the ground-mouth joint and rotate the bottle body intermittently to remove adhesion.
Thermal expansion and contraction method: Locally heat the bottle cap (such as hot compress, hair dryer), and use the temperature difference to expand and separate.
Immersion method: Soak in water/dilute hydrochloric acid, or use penetrating organic solvents (such as petroleum ether) to remove chemical adhesion.
Glass bottles with screw caps (such as oral liquid bottles)
Towel anti-slip method: Wrap the bottle cap with a wet towel to increase friction, and twist it evenly to open it.
Rope-assisted method: Wrap the rope around the bottle cap and push and pull the bottle body after fixing it. It is suitable for stubborn bottle caps.
Special operation precautions
Injection bottles: If it is a sealed powder, use a sterile syringe to extract the dissolving liquid and mix it.
Safety protection: Wear gloves during operation and wrap the bottle body with gauze to prevent scratches.
Quality inspection: Observe the color and smell of the drug after opening it, and stop using it immediately if any abnormality is found.
Example: When opening a glucose glass bottle, you need to clean the bottle mouth with alcohol first, fix the bottle body with your fingers and twist the bottle cap to avoid liquid spilling.
